3 dead as plane crashes into apartment, bursts into flames

Three people have been confirmed dead, after a small plane crashed into an apartment building and bursts into flames.

The sad event which occurred in German city of Wesel, witnesses told local media that the light aircraft had collided with hot-air balloon.

Where the crash happened in the city of Wesel was around 35 miles north of Dusseldorf, report said.

A child is also believed to have been injured in the accident, while the pilot is still missing, according to local media.

Witnesses told local media that the light aircraft had collided with a hot-air balloon shortly before the crash.

The roof of the apartment building in the state of North-Rhine Westphalia caught fire after the plane crashed into it, a police spokesman said.

The people who died have not yet been identified and the blaze was put out shortly after the crash.

The aircraft was capable of carrying two people, but police said it was not yet clear how many people were on board

Firefighters and police have swung into action at the scene and the area has been cordoned off.
