Akeredolu wins landslide, emerges APC governorship candidate in Ondo

Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has emerged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the October 10 governorship election in the state.

Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, the Chairman of the governorship primary election committee, announcing the results, declared the incumbent governor Akeredolu winner and the APC standard bearer.

He said Akeredolu won the highest number of lawful votes at the party’s primary election held at the International Conference Centre, Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Monday.

At the end of the exercise which lasted for several hours, Akeredolu polled 2,458 votes, and his closest rival, Olusola Ok, who emerged the second runner up, polled 262 votes.
