ASUU: Nigerian university lecturers suspend strike after eight months

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its eight-month-old strike, after the union’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

ASUU, had, on Thursday morning, October 13, 2022, announced that its NEC “will be meeting in the coming hours in Abuja. An official announcement on the suspension of the strike is expected at the conclusion.”

After the conclusion of its meeting, as gathered, ASUU resolved to call off its prolonged strike, but was yet to make an official pronouncement.

However, a decision to end the strike had been taken at the end of the NEC meeting which was held at the ASUU secretariat in Abuja, The Daily Leaks can authoritatively report.
