BREAKING: Abducted Kagara students freed as earlier intimated by Gumi

The kidnapped students and staff members of the Government Science College Kagara, Niger State have been freed by their captors.

Those released include 27 students, 3 staff and 12 members of their family.

The controversial Nigerian Islamic preacher, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi, who has been discussing with the bandits, had, on Saturday, told the media that the abducted students and staff members may be released on Sunday.

As gathered, the abductees, who had been kept at a different locations, on their release are being moved to Minna, to be received officially received by Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello, at the Government House.

Recalled that bandits said to be wearing military uniform, had, around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday invaded Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State and kidnapped 27 pupils and 15 staff members.

In the forceful entry to the school and sporadic shootings that followed, a Senior Secondary School (SSS) 3 student was killed and other whisked away with no report of injury sustained.
