Some notable Nigerians affected in the recent wanton destruction of properties at every sector across the country by hoodlums who hijacked the #EndSARS peaceful protest have started counting losses.

One of those who got affected directly or indirectly, is Nigeria’s legendary musician, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi, whose police station he built at Idogo/Yewa in Ogun State, and handed over to police authorities was completely razed by hoodlums.

The police station which was built and equipped for the town some years ago, to curb the menace of armed robbery within around the town, stands as one of his legacies for Idogo/Yewa.

The President of Idogo Development Forum, and the Aare Amuludun of the town, Kabiyesi Olomide Osoba, reacting on the development said: “It is unfortunate that the situation degenerated to that level of burning and destruction of public and private properties.

The vandals, according to him, were not from the town, as he said it was reliably gathered, “but very soon, the long arms of law will catch up with them,” Osoba.

Also, the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Saheed Adio Adewale Olubiyi, reacting, said: “This is one too many. Apart from the police station, they also destroyed our transformer, part of the civil defence building and a few other places.

“Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi donated the police station for the town to assist with security challenges, he did many other things for us including completion of the town hall, built school, civil defense office among others. We won’t tolerate this attitude in the near future. This is a peaceful town and hoodlums cannot come and truncate our peaceful coexistence.”
