#EndSARS: We have bigger fish to fry than running after DJ Swith, Army tells panel

DJ Switch

The Nigerian Army has said that it takes no interest in the female disc jockey, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, fondly called DJ Switch by her admirers, and not running after her.

This disclosure was made on Saturday, by the Commander of 81 Military Intelligence Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos, Brig. Gen. Ahmed Taiwo, while appearing before the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry probing the alleged shooting of #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki tollgate on October 20, 2020.

Gen. Taiwo said contrary to DJ Switch’s claims and as being expressed by others in the public, the Army is not after her.

He said, “Some people take delight in misrepresenting Nigeria and particularly the Nigerian Army to the international community and our fellow Nigerians. This, I believe is done for pecuniary gains.

“Quite recently, a Nigerian, Catherine Udeh, also known as DJ Switch, claimed the Nigerian Army was looking for her. There is nothing further than the truth.

“My Lord, we have bigger fish to fry; and that is how to stabilise Lagos. We can’t be bothered chasing one or two people. Where she got that from, I do not know.”

DJ Switch, on her Instagram Live feed, had claimed she helped injured #EndSARS protesters to remove bullets from their bodies after being allegedly shot at Lekki tollgate.

Also, after DJ Switch had claimed the Army was after her following her role in the Lekki incident, a report broke out that she had sought asylum outside in Canada.
