A Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu, has revealed some events that led to her husband’s proposal to her which later culminated into the lovebirds’ marriage.

In her narration, against the expected norm in Africa societies that it is a man that makes the move to wooing a maiden, Yesufu said in her case, she was the one who made advances to her lover first.

Aisha made the revelation a recent interview with BBC Pidgin.

According to the human rights activist, she said that has been her pattern in her previous relationship – to make the first move to her suitors, saying, the experience with her husband takes no exception.

“The way I met my husband is a long story. I was the one who asked him out.

“I arranged it so he can see me as a wife since he wasn’t seeing me as a wife.

“He would tell you I don’t behave like a wife, I behave like a girlfriend.

“One thing my husband would always say is that no time he comes that I tell him no. You know I am an Edo woman, we have to do it,” Yesufu said.

Same situation, she said played out on their their wedding night, as she told her husband that she was available and willing to fulfill any of his sexual fantasies.

“On our wedding night, I told my husband that anyhow you want it, ask me. Any fantasy you have, I am available because that is my primary job, I do not delegate it. Every other thing I delegate but for that one work, I do not joke about it,” Yesufu said.

She had risen to prominence during the 2014 #BringBackOurGirls social media campaigns after the Boko Haram terrorists kidnapped 276 schoolgirls, mostly Christians from a secondary school in the town of Chibok, Borno State, Nigeria.

Yesufu also emerged the face of the recent #EndSARS protests that rocked Nigeria in October, 2020.
