The news broke out through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, relaying the news on his social media platforms; Twitter and Facebook. The Vice President afterwards took to his media pages to confirm the news.

The news was received by Nigerians who despite party affiliations registered their love and support and also wished him a speedy recovery.

While praying for him to “get well soon,” Osinbajo was equally praised for making the details of his health public and also for patronizing a Nigerian medical facility. Many opined that it was never a habit of Nigerian politicians who mostly are fond of concealing their health status from the public.
