Nigeria’s coronavirus infection rate drops, 146 new cases recorded, total now 4,787

Nigeria has recorded an appreciable drop in the country’s COVID-19 infection rate with the 146 new cases recorded against 248 cases of the previous day.

On the total count, by Tuesday, Nigeria has recorded a total of 4,787 cases of COVID19, out of which 959 successfully treated and discharged.

With this figure disclosed by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), late on Tuesday, it is observed that in the last one week, the cases recorded per day had not gone below 200.

However, Lagos State still maintains the lead with 57 new cases, while eight deaths were recorded, raising the death figure from 150 to 158.

Lagos State was followed by Kano and Kwara states which had 27 and 10 cases respectively.

In Edo, Bauchi and Yobe states, there were nine, eight and seven new cases respectively.

Kebbi State and Oyo State had four news cases each, with Katsina and Niger State recording three cases each.

In Plateau, Borno, Sokoto and Benue states, the NCDC said they had were two each.

But for Gombe, Enugu, Ebonyi, Ogun and Rivers states including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, they all had a case each.
