Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases rise to 6,401 with 226 new cases, Lagos, Ogun, Plateau top list

The number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria jumped to 6,401 with fresh 226 cases announced Tuesday night.

Disclosing this late Tuesday night, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) via its official Twitter handle, said, 131 cases were recorded in Lagos State, 25 cases in Ogun State and 15 cases in Plateau State, being the top three states on its list.

NCDC said eleven cases were recorded in Edo State, seven cases in Kaduna State and six cases in Oyo State.

Others include: Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with five new cases, Adamawa State also had five new cases, while Jigawa, Ebonyi and Borno state, had four new cases each, Nasarawa State had theree new case, while two cases each were recorded in Bauchi and Gombe states, and one case each in Enugu and Bayelsa states.

On the overall, 6,401 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Nigeria with 1,734 fully recovered patients discharged and 192 deaths recorded.
