Osinbajo delivers Buhari’s good will to Nigerian youths, says whatever the situation, ‘we move’

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, has commended the strength and dynamism of the youth noting young Nigerians are currently at the front line of every consequential struggle for our future.

President Buhari who was represented by Vice President Osinbajo, made the submission on Monday, at the National Youth Conference and the commemoration of our National Youth Day held at Abuja, themed: “Energizing the youth for Development, Inclusiveness, Governance, Security and Employment.

Applauding the spirit of the Nigerian youths, he said our youths are leaders already prepared for the challenge ahead against the saying that the challenge is only for the future.

He said, “Ours is a country of young people, and the cliche that the youths are only leaders of tomorrow is now well discredited.

“The fact is that every young Nigerians are currently at the frontline of every consequential struggle for our future.”

Speaking further, Osinbajo noted the youths are littered in every corners of the country doing wonders. From security, to the civil societies…Our Armed Forces and security agencies, laying down their lives, risking lives in the battle against terrorism and other forces of anarchy.”

He continued: “They are in the civil societies, advising the struggle for a fairer and a more just and humane society by promoting the rights of women and ensuring that concerns and interest of the vulnerable remain at the centre of the society’s attention.”

Speaking about the success of individuals in their field both in Nigeria and the world at large, he said, “We are home to celebrators and award-winning writers from Chimamanda Adichie to hundreds of younger Nigerian writers.

“In one Grammy award ceremony, two Nigerian musicians, Burna Boy and Wizkid won awards.

While concluding the speech, the Vice President encouraged youths not to be resilient in any situation they find themselves.

“Wherever you are in this country, whatever you are doing, keep moving, don’t look back, you will win eventually, keep moving ahead, whatever the situation, we move.”

President Buhari is currently away in Glasgow, Scotland for the Climate Change Conference.
