It was all smiling at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in the early hours of Wednesday, August 24, 2022, when the Vice President, Prof Yemi Yemi SAN, walked into the Council Chambers having been physically absent in previous meetings since his surgical operation last month.

Osinbajo had gone for a surgical procedure on his thigh on July 16, 2022, at the Duchess International Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos State, and he was discharged on July 25, after which he has been recuperating at home and attending official functions virtually.

As he left the hospital, Osinbajo had taken to his social media handles to appreciate Nigerians for showering him with love and well wishes.

Before that, notable Nigerians did not hide their goodwill messages as they sent prayers and best wishes to the Vice President.

Nigerians generally have applauded the Vice President for his energy and commitment to serve, as ever since he was discharged, he has not ceased to attend to his primary duties, though virtually, but with the same zeal with which he was known for.

Meetings like the National Executive Council meeting which he chairs (NEC), The Federal Executive Council Meeting (FEC) which is the cabinet meeting, the launch of Imagine Nigeria, the launch of Nigeria’s 2021 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) and National Immunization Coverage Survey (NICS) report, providing reliable nationwide and internationally comparable data to monitor the situation of children and women, Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council meeting and a host of others were virtually done from his home.
