Tanker, 18-seater bus accident leaves many injured on Otedola bridge in Lagos

A tanker accident which occurred on Otedola bridge in Lagos has left many injured people.

The sad incident which occurred around 8:25 a.m. Thursday morning, around Berger area of Lagos State, was as a result of a head on collision between the tanker and an 18-seater bus.

The bus was said to be carrying 10 passengers but the number of casualties could not be immediately ascertained.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), in a tweet, confirmed that the accident involved a tanker and a Mazda bus carrying 10 passengers, but said it had the capacity to contain 18 passengers.

“Fatal accident on Otedola Bridge inward Berger involving a tanker and a fully loaded Mazda bus. All relevant emergency agencies alerted. Traffic backlog building up beyond Secretariat,” the tweet read.

“Officials already on scene attending to casualties while officers of @followlastma and @rrslagos767 are also on standby to assist. @LAG_FireService officers also around on alert,” LASEMA tweeted.
