The yet to be disclosed 2023 presidential bid of Bola Tinubu, the national leader of Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has received a boost, with the support granted by a prominent Nigerian.<\/p>\n

Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, currently representing Oyo North in the Senate, on Thursday, publicly offered his support for Tinubu to be Nigeria’s next president if he declares his interest to run for the office in 2023.<\/p>\n

Buhari, featuring in a radio interview with Journalist Edmund Obilo, expressed his view when asked if Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi was working against Tinubu\u2019s interest?<\/p>\n

He said: “No. I am Tinubu. I am not Fayemi and I will not be in a meeting where somebody would be working against Tinubu. I am supporting Tinubu.”<\/p>\n

But when asked if Tinubu, who has not declared his interest to become Nigeria’s president was actually nursing the interest, Buhari said: “If he wants to be President, I will support him. I will campaign for him.”<\/p>\n

Then, on the crisis which has broken APC in Oyo State into factions, Buhari said, the disagreement was primarily caused by the loss of the governorship seat to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).<\/p>\n

But responding to a question on whether the death of former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi had affected the progress of the APC in Oyo State, Buhari said: “Of course. Ajimobi meant different things to many people,” but he singled out his predecessor, Adebayo Alao-Akala, as the leader of APC in the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
