Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, on Tuesday announced state government’s plans to repeal the Public Office Holder (Payment of Pension Law 2007), authorising the payment of pension and other entitlements to the state’s former governors and their deputies.<\/p>\n

This was personally disclosed by Sanwo-Olu, while presenting the 2021 budget to the Lagos State House of Assembly.<\/p>\n

When abolished, in effect, this will put an end to the era of pension payment to three former governors of the state, Bola Tinubu, Babatunde Fashola, among others who served as governors and deputy governors in Lagos State.<\/p>\n

To effect the repeal of the law authorising the pension payment, Sanwo-Olu, said the bill will be sent back to the Lagos State House of Assembly to formally repeal the it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
