A large number of physically challenged people from the Niger Delta region of Nigeria have stormed the country’s National Assembly complex in protest.<\/p>\n

They arrived the National Assembly complex at Abuja, Thursday morning, to register their protest termed neglect by their elected Senators and Representatives from the Niger Delta region.<\/p>\n

The protesting physically challenged people had been resisted by the security operatives at the parliament gate, but they forcefully gained their entry into the National Assembly Complex as the lawmakers prepared for the plenary.<\/p>\n

They claimed their rights had been denied despite being educated.<\/p>\n

Consequently, the spokesperson for the physically challenged persons, Amos Etim, said they had mobilised themselves from the various states of Niger Delta, and arrived at the National Assembly Thursday morning to demand their rights from their representatives.<\/p>\n

As the protest was ongoing, one of the protesters fainted, but his colleagues immediately rallied round to revive him.<\/p>\n

Another who spoke said, blamed the Niger Delta Senators for not being helping to their plight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are just keeping us on the streets of Niger Delta.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have been paying Boko Haram, kidnappers, but they are not ready to make laws for us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
