The flight of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who has been on the waiting to physically attend the 12th Bola Tinubu Colloquium holding in Kano State, has been aborted owing to weather issue, the Presidency has said.<\/p>\n

The Vice President’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande, who disclosed this Monday morning, said, his principal, Prof. Osinbajo, SAN, had prepared to embark on his journey to Kano, earlier but was advised by his pilot to delay his flight owing to bad weather in Kano.<\/p>\n

However, he informed that the Vice President has been put on the waiting, and depending on the weather situation, he still hopes to physically attend the programme. But, if the weather won’t permit him to fly, he will join the President to virtually attend the programme.<\/p>\n

President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the chairman of the occasion, as the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), celebrates his 69th birthday today, will join the gathering virtually from the presidential villa, Abuja.<\/p>\n

But the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, who has prepared to attend the programme physically is being put on the waiting by the pilot who has briefed him of a bad weather in Kano, hence suffering a delay in boarding.<\/p>\n

The 12th Colloquium themed \u201cOur Common Bond, Our Common Wealth,\u201d according to organisers, seeks to discuss peace-building and national cohesion as tools for growth and prosperity in Africa, with President Buhari as its chairman.<\/p>\n

Also, the President of Liberia, George Weah, Former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Koroma, Vice President of ECOWAS Commission, Finda Koroma, and others have been confirmed as speakers of the 12th Bola Tinubu Colloquium.<\/p>\n

The Colloquium holds both virtually and physically today, Monday, March 29.<\/p>\n

Other speakers at the Colloquium are Dani Rodrick, Ford Foundation Professor of International Political Economy; Funmi Olonisakin, Professor of Security, Leadership & Development King\u2019s College, London; Amaka Anku, Practice Head, Africa Eurasia Group; Mohamed Yahya, Resident Representative in Nigeria, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); and Charity Namsoh, Founder\/CEO, HoP Africa.<\/p>\n

The speakers include policymakers, mediators, innovators, security experts, thought-leaders, academics and individuals in governance.<\/p>\n

Through its rich selection of speakers across different sectors, the colloquium seeks to bring relevant discussions and solutions towards national growth in Nigeria and Africa. \u2018<\/p>\n

The Bola Tinubu Colloquium is an avenue to bring to fore rich debate and intellectual discussions to project the future of Nigeria and Africa.<\/p>\n

The first edition of the colloquium held in 2009.<\/p>\n
