Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has insisted that there were no mass killings at the Lekki toll gate, in an attacked believed to have been launched against the #EndSARS protesters by the Nigerian Army.
The minister, speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Thursday morning, said those who alleged massacre at the toll gate have only succeeded in misleading the world.
Mohammed said: “We can say that the world has just witnessed a massacre without bodies” in Lekki.
He urged the world to wait for the outcome of the panel investigating the matter, while insisting that thee Army did not shoot at protesters at the toll gate.

Mohammed, however, charged that anyone who has contrary proofs should make them available to the panel investigating the matter, adding that the government was satisfied with the way security agencies handled the protests.
Meanwhile, Mohammed has chided the Cable News Network (CNN), the American news channel, for its publication on the Lekki incident, describing it as “blatantly irresponsible.”

Consequently upon the CNN’s “investigative report,” which he described as a sham, Mohammed had called for a sanction for the American media organisation.
