A seasoned gospel preacher, Rev. Olusola Areogun, has encouraged believers to rely not on their intellect alone but on the grace of God to unlock supernatural results.

Speaking as the guest minister at Charisday Celebrations 2024, hosted by Pastor Tunde Jaiyebo, held at Charis Family International Church, along Cultural Centre Road, Mokola, Ibadan, Areogun shared profound insights on the theme “Empowered with Grace,” drawing from Hebrews 13:9 to illustrate the transformative power of grace.

Rev. Areogun who serves as the General Overseer of Dream Centre Worldwide, emphasised that “Grace is the greatest facility in redemption, adding, when grace shows up, it shatters all barriers.”

He further explained, “It is not your brain, it is grace that unlocks supernatural results,” as he established strong, unshakeable connections with both Christ and the body of believers.

The minister warned that, in a time when diverse doctrines are being promoted, only those firmly connected to God and His Word would remain steadfast.

“When the wind blows, it is the trees and things that are loosely attached that fall off,” he stated, urging believers to ensure their connection to Jesus and the church is solid.

He further explained that being born again connects a believer to the body of Christ, specifically to a local church where they grow together in unity and faith.

“All cells grow in consonance with the body of God,” Areogun said, emphasising the need for a deep, personal relationship with the Word of God.

Drawing from John 15:1-3, he likened believers to branches connected to a tree, saying, as the branches grow, so also believers are connected to the body where growth is sustained by the nourishing Word of God.

“As you abide in Me, and I in you, you will bear much fruit,” Areogun said, quoting John 15:4, urging believers to remain deeply connected to God for spiritual growth.

Rev. Areogun then delved into the profound nature of grace, emphasising that while grace is often referred to as unmerited favour, it holds far greater significance for the believer.

He referenced multiple Old Testament instances where individuals “found grace” in the sight of God, such as in Genesis 19:19 and Genesis 32:5.

“In the Old Testament, grace was a disposition of God to man,” he explained. “But today, through Jesus Christ, we have found grace in a far greater dimension.”

He highlighted that grace is not just about receiving unearned favour but is the essential resource that empowers Christians to live victoriously.

“After Jesus saved us, grace is the most important facility in the body of Christ, but it is grossly underused,” Areogun lamented, saying, “It is one thing to find grace; it is another thing to release it and allow it to work in your life.”

Areogun went on to say that grace is indispensable to the Christian life, allowing believers to function beyond their natural capabilities.

He noted, “Grace is the greatest facility in redemption. When grace shows up, it shatters all barriers.”

He illustrated this by referencing John 1:14, where it says, “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Areogun stressed that grace not only saves but also empowers believers to navigate life’s challenges, just as Jesus exemplified during His earthly ministry.

According to Rev. Areogun, grace enables believers to transcend limitations and barriers that would otherwise restrict them.

“There is a realm that grace qualifies you for, and it will make a way for you where there seems to be no way,” he proclaimed.

“Grace suspends the laws and provides you with opportunities that defy natural explanation.”

He added that even when a believer may seem undeserving, grace works to elevate them, highlighting, “If grace can take you from the level of a sinner to a son, how much more will it do for you now?”

He also emphasised that grace is not something believers work for but rather something they operate in, stating, “You work with grace and under grace, but you don’t work for grace.”

Quoting Acts 4:33, he declared, “With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all.”

Rev. Areogun encouraged believers to see grace as a daily tool, emphasising that it should be sought actively, not passively.

“Grace builds you up,” he said, quoting Acts 20:32, urging the congregation to work in harmony with the grace God has given them, particularly through the exercise of their gifts and callings.

He urged the believers to serve God with their gifts, as grace is what makes their service fruitful, referencing Romans 12:6-8, where different gifts are distributed according to grace.

He closed by emphasising that grace is about generosity, strength, and divine enablement.

“When grace is available and you take hold of it, you will soar beyond your natural abilities,” Areogun said, adding, “Don’t let your education or circumstances limit your vision. Elevate your life to the level of grace.”

In his concluding remarks, Rev. Areogun encouraged believers to take personal responsibility in their relationship with grace.

“Don’t frustrate the grace of God,” he said, quoting Galatians 2:21. “Let grace work in you, and you will see supernatural results in your life.”
