During a visit to the Timbuktu Healthcare Hub and the secretariat of the Timbuktu Africa Innovation Fund in Kigali, Rwanda, former Nigerian Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo commended groundbreaking innovations reshaping healthcare delivery across the continent.

Osinbajo, who was in Kigali for a Council Meeting with founding members and Executive Secretary Ms Natalie Jabangwe, toured the facility and interacted with key innovators driving impact through technology and entrepreneurship.

Among them was Rwandan entrepreneur Claude Irankunda, founder of Innovahyper Technologies, whose Baho nursebot merges several medical tools into one smart device.

Designed to assist nurses in rural areas, the tool monitors vital signs in real-time, aiming to make healthcare more affordable and accessible.

Also showcased was My SafePad, a Liberian startup led by Bishop Wolah, which focuses on menstrual health through sustainable hygiene products.

The initiative also engages young people with education on reproductive health, sexually transmitted infections, and contraceptive use.
