Professor Yemi Osinbajo, former Nigeria’s vice president, was among the prominent attendees at the funeral service of Segun Awolowo, grandson of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and former Executive Director of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, held at Our Saviour’s Church, Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos State.
The ceremony drew a wide array of political, business, traditional and religious leaders, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo‑Olu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.

President Bola Tinubu was represented at the service by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, who paid tribute to Awolowo’s dedication to national service, trade and economic development.
Osinbajo, an in-law to the deceased, and other dignitaries honoured the late Awolowo’s legacy of public service, reflecting on his contributions to national progress and the esteem in which he was held by colleagues and citizens alike.
