The Panafricana Strategic and Policy Research Group (PANAFSTRAG), in collaboration with Empowered Newswire, is set to host Africa’s 1st Annual Conference on Followership, themed “Followership or Followersheep.”
The two-day virtual conference, scheduled for March 26–27, 2025, will run from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (GMT) via Zoom, bringing together leading experts to examine the dynamics of followership in governance, leadership, and societal development.
Mr. Laolu Akande, Editor-in-Chief of Empowered Newswire (Abuja & New York), will chair the conference, while Dr. Samuel O. Oloruntoba, Assistant Professor at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, will deliver the keynote speech.
The conference will explore the distinction between independent, critical followers who contribute to leadership success and passive, unquestioning followers who enable poor governance. Discussions will be guided by a structured model highlighting different followership archetypes.
