Ahead of the upcoming Edo gubernatorial election coming up on September 21, 2024, tens of hundreds of his supporters across Nigeria have thrown their support behind Prince Clem Agba, endorsing him for the highly coveted position of Governor in Edo State.
Agba, who is a former Minister of State for Budget and National Planning and also a former top employee of Chevron Nigeria Limited, had declared an interest in contesting the 2024 Edo governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, Prince Agba declared his intention to run for the governorship post, at his ward in the Uzanu community in Etsako East LGA of the state for the election scheduled to be held on September 21, 2024.
“I have come here to tell my people of my aspiration to run for the office of the Governor of Edo State because it is not enough to continue to talk about the ills but to showcase what (good things that) can happen in every corner of the state with my village, which today, I think we can be described as a town or city,” Agba had declared.
However, in a remarkable show of support and enthusiasm, many of Agba’s supporters from across Nigeria have taken to the popular social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter) to rally behind him, highlighting his various accomplishments in the private and public sector of the country.
They bared their minds in various posts across social media platforms as the chorus of support for Prince Clem Agba grows much louder on the X platform, with many describing him as a leader who possesses the qualities necessary to navigate the complexities of governance and drive meaningful progress in Edo state given his private and public sector experiences.
Extolling the virtues of the former Minister, one X user, commenting via Adewumi C. Eden wrote, “With decades of experience in both private and public sectors, #ClemAgba possesses a deep understanding of governance, economic development & public admin. His expertise in finance, investment & management will undoubtedly be an asset to Edo State.”
Bello Shittu Tijani had this to say, “@ClemAgba’s transition from the private sector to public service reflects his belief in the transformative power of effective governance. His profile showcases private-sector excellence and public-sector service. This is the Man”
