A northern leader and traditional title holder in Kano State, Prof Isa Hashim, is dead.
The death of Hashim, the Jarman of Kano, came less than 24 hours after the demise of the recently crowned Emir of Rano, Tafida Abubakar-Illa, also in Kano State.

But the 86-year-old Hashim, a former administrator, retired professor of political science and an author, was said to have died in his home after a brief illness.
The recent successive deaths of some of his childhood friends, it was said had made Hashim suffer emotional disorder, which also caused his health to deteriorate until he later breathed his last.
The late Jarman Kano is expected to be buried later in the day after a funeral prayer expected to take place at the emir’s palace.
