Pastor Tunde Jaiyebo, Senior Pastor of Charis Family International Church, has addressed one of life’s most troubling challenges, being stuck in cycles of limitation, offering scriptural insights and faith-driven strategies for breakthrough.

He delivered this timely message rounding off the 2025 Men’s and Ladies Conference on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the church’s headquarters on Cultural Centre Road, Mokola, Ibadan.

Themed “Breaking Limits by Grace”, the conference drew its foundational inspiration from Psalm 18:34: “He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms,” Pastor Jaiyebo explained that this scripture points to divine empowerment, where human capacity is supernaturally enabled to do the impossible.

In his impactful and deeply relatable message, Pastor Jaiyebo began by describing the quiet frustration many silently endure: “One of the most frustrating things in life is being limited. You have done all you have to do, things don’t seem to work. You are disappointed and frustrated; start hitting yourself on the head! You see people doing less, and getting results.”

He likened such limitations to an evil cycle that saps progress and hope. “It is like a cycle of bad and evil, things are good today and are bad tomorrow. You question God, ‘Why are things like this?’” he said, urging the audience to identify both seen and unseen boundaries that keep them from rising.

Referencing Luke 13:11, Pastor Jaiyebo drew attention to the woman who was bent over and could not lift herself for years. “Sometimes, you are bent down in disgrace, even seeing your colleagues, you can’t raise your head to see men. But Jesus saw that woman and said everything that held her bound is loosed!” he declared, stressing that divine attention breaks human shame.

Speaking further on how past labels and painful histories can limit one’s future, he shared the story of Jabez from 1 Chronicles 4:9–10. “You know you are good and can do something better, but they gave you an opposite name as it was done for Jabez. Sometimes, what has happened in the past is hindering your present. But by His grace, every wrong appellation over you is cancelled,” he said.

Also citing Isaiah 54:17, he reminded the congregation of divine justice: “Every tongue that rises against you in judgement is condemned. People are talking behind you, you don’t know they are talking about you.”

He continued with bold declarations: “Every unrighteous decree is cancelled in Jesus’ name. Where you have been rejected, you will be accepted.”

Using Jabez as an example of spiritual turnaround, Pastor Jaiyebo emphasised the importance of personal accountability. “Jabez took responsibility for his life. He didn’t blame anyone. Nobody wants to help a man of sorrow,” he said. “But he called on the God of Israel, and he said God will enlarge his coast and His hand might be with him, and He would keep him from evil.”

In his closing charge, he stressed the need for spiritual intensity and supernatural power. “There must be an element of desperation. There must be an anointing on you. The anointing destroys the yoke,” he declared, referencing the grace-driven warfare hinted at in Psalm 18:34.

The conference concluded with a session of fervent prayers and declarations, as participants responded to the message with declarations of faith, standing on the theme “Breaking Limits by Grace” and drawing strength from the scriptural charge in Psalm 18:34.

Many voiced scriptural confessions, affirming that cycles of limitation had been broken and that they had received divine empowerment to advance beyond every barrier.
