Many residents injured as robbers invade Apete community in Ibadan

Many residents were left injured when daredevil robbers invaded Apete, a community in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital in the South West Nigeria.

The robbers said to be about 20, launched attack on the community at the early hours of Thursday, precisely around 1:00 a.m., and robbed residents of expensive valuables.

In the community located at Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, the robbers as gathered began operations at Jamade Street, Opposite Goshen land, inside Apete community and left people with different degrees of injuries.

No fewer than 10 houses, including a student hostel, were said to be affected in the robbery incident.

It would have been a five-minute drive for the police to arrive the crime scene, but the angry residents said the police did not show up long after a distress call was put through to the Divisional Police Station located within the Apete community.
