The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday to celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement from the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

In the statement, the minister congratulated the Muslim community both in Nigeria and abroad, urging them to reflect on the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this significant occasion.
He also encouraged all Nigerians to use this time for prayers aimed at fostering peace and prosperity in the nation.
