Nigerian Gov Ikpeazu suspends chief of staff for ‘spraying cash on cleric’

A Nigerian governor in the country’s eastern state has suspended his chief of staff (CoS), for spraying money on a cleric at a public function.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, had suspended Anthony Agbazuere, his CoS, after a viral video showing him spraying money on Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere Odumeje, also known as ‘Indaboski,’ is trending online.

In the video which became popular on Twitter, Agbazuere could be seen spraying naira notes on a dancing Odumeje, a controversial Onitsha-based clergyman.

The video whose when it was recorded was unknown, appears to have been shot in Agbazuere’s office.

However, in a short statement on Sunday, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chris Ezem, announced the suspension of the CoS with immediately.

”Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the immediate suspension from office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr ACB Agbazuere,” the statement read.
