Former Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of the late Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu at the family’s residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The former VP arrived at the family residence on Sunday, January 7, 2024, accompanied by his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo and close associates who came to pay their respects to the late governor and offer comfort to his grieving family.

During the visit, Prof Osinbajo spent time speaking with the late governor’s wife, as seen in the photos uploaded on the former VP’s Instagram handle, and other family members, offering his condolences and expressing his admiration for Governor Akeredolu’s contributions to Ondo State and the nation as a whole.
The former VP made this known through a post shared on his Instagram page.
He wrote, “Dolly & I were in Ibadan with our friends the Akeredolu’s, to condole with them on the passing of our dear brother & friend Aketi, many anecdotes about his incredible life & times! We prayed that the Lord will comfort, strengthen the family.” — Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN)”
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, aged 67, died at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at a German hospital where he was receiving treatment for prostate cancer, an ailment that had made him incapacitated for several months.
After the formal announcement of the governor’s death, the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, however, had been sworn in as substantive governor by the state’s Chief Judge.
