President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have landed in the United Kingdom to kick off a two‑day state visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and the UK.
The presidential aircraft touched down at Stansted Airport at about 15:23 UK time on Tuesday, where senior UK government representatives and officials from the Nigerian High Commission received the Nigerian leader and his wife.
Tinubu and the First Lady will be hosted by Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle from Wednesday to Thursday, with major discussions scheduled on trade, investment, security and other areas of mutual interest.

Officials say the visit will also provide a platform for signing agreements and memoranda of understanding expected to deepen cooperation across several key sectors.
Information Minister Mohammed Idris described the visit as “an opportunity that can’t be missed” that could yield benefits for Nigerians, noting that it is the first state visit by a Nigerian head of state to the UK in decades.
Throughout the visit the president is set to meet senior UK political and business leaders, aiming to advance shared priorities and boost bilateral engagement.
