Barely a few weeks before the 2023 Presidential elections, a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hajia Naja’atu Muhammad, has made a shocking revelation by giving an insight into what transpired during the APC primary election in June last year, 2022.

Hajiya Muhammad who recently retired from party politics and her position as a director of the APC’s Bola Tinubu Presidential Campaign said the party hierarchy especially the APC governors sidelined the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN because he refused to share money with them to curry their favours.

Mohammad made this known on Thursday, January 26, 2023, in an interview with Arise TV.

The Kano-born politician also accused the state governors of manipulating the whole process by sharing money among themselves.

She also expressed her shock by stating that almost all the ballot boxes from Kano were already compromised with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s name already written on the ballot papers.

Explaining how VP Osinbajo was schemed out, Mohammad said: “If they really wanted a power shift to the South-West, is he (Osinbajo) not also Egba or Oduduwa? (Which means an original son of the soil from Ogun State in Nigeria’s South West region). What is wrong with him? They refused because he could not share money.

“Let me tell you, I know our delegates from Kano. I can tell you that for each ballot box, the name of Asiwaju was put on it and all you are paid to do is to go and put it in the box. It wasn’t their choice and we have seen clips of governors sharing money.”

“Governors! such a disgrace. This is the first time that I know that governors do not even sponsor presidential campaigns. Normally the governors sponsor presidential campaigns in their states but this time around it is Asiwaju that is doing it because everything about Asiwaju is about money, there is nothing like honour.

“For God’s sake, what do we want, can we continue to wallow in this? Can we continue to deceive ourselves? Who are we lying to? We are only lying to ourselves. We see these things. The truth has been written on the horizon why are we now turning the other eye?” Mohammad said.

Speaking on the competence of the Vice President, the 67-year-old woman said, Osinbajo performed excellently well when he was Acting President, saying he stabilized the country.

“Osinbajo, anytime Buhari leaves the country, the dollar collapses, why? Osinbajo was given a few weeks to run this country, I mean a few weeks and he put the country on the right track. In terms of security, in terms of finance. A very brilliant Professor, she concluded.
