Pastor Tunde Jaiyebo, Senior Pastor of Charis Family International Church, has outlined what he described as a spiritual pathway to resolving challenges that persist despite human effort, stating that many life problems remain unsolved due to limited human understanding.

Speaking during his sermon at a branch of Charis Family International Church, located along High Court Road, Concorde School Bus Stop, Ring Road, Ibadan, Pastor Tunde Jaiyebo said believers must recognise the point at which human capacity ends and divine intervention becomes necessary.

He stressed that praying in tongues provides access to solutions beyond natural reasoning.

He emphasised that ignorance remains one of the greatest burdens confronting humanity, noting that many struggles persist not because solutions do not exist, but because they have not yet been discovered.

The cleric explained that the question of “why” believers speak in tongues must come from enquiry and not rebellion, as genuine enquiry brings clarity, precision, and spiritual focus.

Citing 1 Corinthians 14:2, he stated that speaking in tongues is not directed at men but at God, as it conveys mysteries beyond human comprehension.

According to him, this form of prayer operates outside the limits of human understanding, enabling believers to access divine insight that transcends the boundaries of the past and present.

He noted that human knowledge is largely confined to what has happened and what is happening, leaving the future uncertain, which explains why many turn to seers and the occult.

He stressed that praying in tongues provides a direct and superior channel to God’s wisdom.

Drawing from Romans 8:26-28, Pastor Jaiyebo explained that the Holy Spirit intercedes beyond human articulation and aligns believers with the mind of God, ensuring that all things ultimately work together for good.

He added that in situations where human effort yields no result, spiritual engagement through praying in tongues becomes essential.

He noted that there are moments in life when individuals have done everything required, particularly in areas such as business and personal endeavours, yet see no results.

At such points, he said, the appropriate response is to engage spiritually, as praying in tongues bypasses intellectual limitations and accesses divine solutions.

Beyond problem solving, Jaiyebo described speaking in tongues as a mechanism for spiritual renewal, particularly during periods of emotional and mental exhaustion.

He observed that when individuals become overwhelmed, easily irritated, or lose interest in spiritual activities, their capacity to handle challenges weakens significantly.

At such times, he said, issues that should ordinarily be resolved quickly become prolonged, emphasising that praying in tongues rebuilds inner strength and restores stability.

Quoting Proverbs 24:10, he stated that strength is revealed in how one responds to adversity, urging believers to maintain spiritual vitality through consistent practice rather than waiting until they are depleted.

He warned against allowing spiritual energy to run low before seeking renewal, encouraging constant refilling through prayer.

Pastor Jaiyebo further highlighted that praying in tongues produces tangible outcomes, including the emergence of ideas, insights, and direction.

He advised congregants to deliberately document such thoughts, noting that they may represent answers to prayer.

He added that impressions often described as “it occurred to me” or “something told me” can be forms of divine communication, which become clearer and more frequent through consistent practice.

He also encouraged believers to return such impressions to God for confirmation, reinforcing a disciplined approach to spiritual discernment.

In addition, he outlined two key spiritual signals, restraint and constraint.

Referencing Acts 16:6-10, he explained that restraint manifests as an inner reluctance to proceed with an action one would normally take, signalling divine caution or a clear “no”.

Conversely, constraint, illustrated in John 4:1-6, reflects a strong inner urge to act, indicating divine direction.

He urged believers to pay close attention to these signals, stressing that spiritual sensitivity is developed through meditation and sustained prayer, particularly in tongues.

Meditation, he explained, involves thinking deeply on matters already committed to God in prayer.

Referencing Jude 20, the cleric encouraged Christians to build themselves up spiritually and pursue visible growth, likening the process to the steady rise of a structured edifice.

He added that believers can apply this principle to their personal lives and businesses, praying for progress and elevation.

Jaiyebo concluded that Christianity operates from within, not from external appearances, stressing that the loss of inner peace is often a clear indicator of misalignment.

He advised believers to cultivate the discipline of praying in tongues for at least 30 minutes daily, noting that this can be structured into 10 minutes each in the morning, afternoon, and night, particularly when navigating difficult situations or challenging relationships.

According to him, consistent engagement in this spiritual practice not only provides solutions when problems arise but can also prevent certain challenges from occurring altogether.

The host, Pastor Temitayo Gesinde, in her exhortation, charged the congregants to deepen their spiritual commitment, embrace God’s guidance in their daily lives, and live purposefully.

She encouraged them to actively pursue their faith, apply biblical principles in all aspects of life, and remain steadfast in fulfilling their God-given assignments.

While introducing the guest minister, Pastor Gesinde praised Pastor Jaiyebo for his exemplary leadership and steadfast dedication to raising a generation of believers who fulfil their God-given purpose.

She highlighted his consistent mentorship, commitment to spiritual growth, and ability to inspire congregants to live in faith and obedience.
