Dr Adaora Umeoji has been appointed as the new Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, effective June 1, 2024.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Company Secretary, Michael Otu, and filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited on Tuesday.
Umeoji will succeed the current GMD, Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, whose tenure ends on May 31.
She is the first female GMD/CEO in the bank’s history, and her appointment aligns with the bank’s tradition of executive transition and internal leadership development strategy.
Before this role, Umeoji served as the Deputy Managing Director of the bank since October 28, 2016, accumulating nearly 30 years of banking experience, 26 of which have been with Zenith Bank.
