• President Buhari meets King Charles at Buckingham Palace

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has met with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, United Kingdom.

President Buhari who is currently in London, arrived in the UK, on Monday, October 31, 2022, for his routine medical checkup, was seen on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, with King Charles III in pictures released by the media unit of the State House.

One of the aides of the President, Bashir Ahmad, had also confirmed the meeting of the Nigerian leader with the British Monarch, in a post on his social media handle, though the agenda of the meeting was not disclosed.

But on a lighter note, Ahmad said during their meeting, King Charles III asked President Buhari whether he had a house in the UK, and the President replied; “No. I live in Nigeria alone, the only houses, Daura and Kaduna I have are those I had before I got into government. I feel much freer when I have nothing.”

As further gathered, President Buhari also used the opportunity of his visit to condole with the new king on the demise of his mother, Queen Elizabeth ll, while he also congratulated him on his confirmation as the new British Monarch.

In a statement earlier released by Mr Femi Adesina, the President’s spokesman, he said the president would return to the country in the second week of November.
