Condolence: Osinbajo visits Fawehinmi’s family, extols the late Mohammed’s virtues

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late human rights lawyer and activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, to commiserate with his widow, over the death of their son, Mohammed Fawehinmi.

Prof Osinbajo, who was at the residence of the bereaved mother, Mrs Ganiyat Fawehinmi, on Saturday, expressed sympathy over the loss of their loved son, the heir to the late Gani.

At the Ikeja, Lagos residence of the Fawehinmis, Prof Osinbajo met with the mother of Mohammed, Mrs Ganiyat Fawehinmi, as he extolled the virtues of her late son, also a lawyer like his dad, and prayed for God’s comfort for the mother and the entire family.

The Vice President described the late Mohammed as “one of us,” being a progressive and protector of the poor and the less privileged.

Prof Osinbajo noted that “the late Mohammed continually identified himself with the progressives and did not diminish what concerned his father during his lifetime.

“He continually maintained very serious advocacy for the poor and the less privileged,” he said.

Prof Osinbajo prayed that God will console the entire family of the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi and “grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.”
