Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, has stepped into to the feud between the Channels TV reporter, Pius Angbo and his wife, Ifeyinwa Angbo.
Ifeyinwa had taken to Twitter, to report a domestic violence case against her husband.
Narrating her ordeal in a recorded video, she showed her swollen face with blood blisters, an injury she said her husband inflicted on her after advising him against unrestrained spendings on his girlfriends.
The video had generated a lot of reactions, with many Nigerians calling for sanctions against Pius, following which he was suspended by his employers at Channels TV, who condemned his reported act of violence against his wife and said such would be probed.
Moments after Ifeyinwa released her video on Twitter crying for justice, Nigerians pleaded her case, even, one of her four children in her six years of marriage, whose need for proper upbringing she said made her counseled her husband, appeared in the video, to console his mum.

Ifeyinwa, who introduced herself as a medical doctor, said she had suffered repeated assaults from her husband in her six-year marriage to him.
The troubled wife, in the 133 seconds video said she gave birth to a baby through Cesarean Section only four weeks ago, and while going through the healing process, she said her husband assaulted her and even sat on her stomach.
Her offence, she said was advising her husband to stop spending recklessly on women outside wedlock and save the money to take care of their children.
But Governor Ortom of Benue State, the home state of Pius, after the couple’s story went viral, intervened in the melee and reconciled the assaulted wife with her husband.
Jimin Geoffrey, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media, to Governor Ortom, shared details of the reconciliation on his Facebook account on Monday.
His statement reads: “Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has reconciled Benue State Channel’s Reporter, Pius Angbo with his wife, Dr (Mrs) Ifeyinwa Angbo.
“Governor Ortom who met with the couple today, counselled them to always settle their differences amicably and shun the temptation of engaging in violence.
“He stated that as a young couple with great potentials, the husband being a versatile journalist and the wife a medical doctor, there was the need for them to foster a strong union to serve as models to others.
“Mr. Pius Angbo in a reaction said he had apologised to his wife over the assault on her, stressing that he also sought the forgiveness of the entire women folk and would make amends going forward.
“On her part, Dr Angbo said she had accepted her husband’s apology and forgiven him, saying their children are still tender and they needed prayers to grow stronger in love and nurture their kids to maturity.
“She appreciated Governor Ortom for taking time out of his very tight schedule to make peace between them, saying the Governor’s intervention was fatherly and a demonstration of love for them.”
