Tragedy struck at the Akobo area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Sunday morning, as two young men and a herbalist were caught with dismembered body of a boy yet to be identified.
The trio, said to be ritual killers, caused chaos in the highbrow area of Ibadan, as residents already moving out of their houses to attend the Sunday church services, got perplexed seeing the bestial treatment of the innocent boy.
As the atmosphere immediately wore a sombre look, with a crowd of people gathered, an angry mob who couldn’t control the upsurge of the emotion created, lynched the herbalist, set him on fire and killed one of his two accomplices.

It took the intervention of men of the Operation Burst security personnel who arrived and dispersed the mob that saved the third of the three ritual killers from being killed after jungle justice had been administered on two of them.
When TheDailyLeaks contacted the Oyo State police command to get a brief on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olugbenga Fadeyi, said the incident had not been reported to police authorities at the state command.
However, the charred body of the herbalist and the other man lynched to death were still laying on the floor as of the tome of filing this report.
