Governor Seyi Makinde has declared Wednesday, July 19, 2023, a public holiday in Oyo State, in commemoration of Islamic New Year Hijrah 1445.
The governor made the declaration in a circular signed by his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi.

In the said release, Governor Makinde congratulated the Muslim faithful on the commencement of the New Year.
He also called on them to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and sustainability in Oyo State in particular and the Nigeria in general.
