Osinbajo condoles with Davido, Chioma over son’s death, says ‘Dolly and I are greatly saddened’

Nigeria’s Vice president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, commiserated with the popular award-winning Nigerian singer, Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, over the death of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.

The news of the death of Ifeanyi who recently marked his 3rd birthday anniversary on October 20, 2022, came as a rude shock to the entire country and became a social media sensation.

The little boy reportedly got drowned in a swimming pool at his father’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State, on Monday, October 31, 2022.

It was gathered that his father, Davido and his fiancée, Chioma, were not at the residence when the tragic incident happened.

Report said both of them had travelled to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital for a family engagement.

In his condolence message via his social media handles, Vice President Osinbajo said, “Dolly and I are greatly saddened by the tragic loss of Ifeanyi, the dear son of Chioma and David.

“We pray our Lord Jesus Christ will comfort and uphold both of them through this traumatic experience.”

We also commiserate with our brother, Dr Deji Adeleke and the entire Adeleke family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

In the same vein, politicians, entertainers, celebrities and hundreds of thousands of fans of the singer all over the world have been mourning the death of Ifeanyi describing the incident as sad, terrible and unavoidable.

Many celebrities have been writing eulogies while sending condolences to the late Ifeanyi’s parents.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has brought in eight domestic workers of the hip-hop star for questioning concerning the child’s death.

“No arrest yet but domestic staff have been brought in for questioning,” Police Public Relations Officer in the state Benjamin Hundeyin said.
