Concerns mount as Davido, Chioma lose son, Ifeanyi after police quiz domestic staff for questioning

The raving Nigerian hip-hop singer, Davido, and his fiancée, Chioma, have reportedly lost their three-year-old son, Ifeanyi.

The Lagos State Police Command, who spoke on the incident said, eight domestic staff of Davido, whose real name is David Adedeji, have been taken to the station for questioning over the death his of son, Ifeanyi.

The command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirming their arrest to the media said, “Eight domestic staff have been brought in for questioning. Anyone found not culpable will be let off.

“Those found culpable will be prosecuted,” he said.

Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, reportedly drowned in a swimming pool located on the Banana Island, Lagos home of the singer, on Monday.

Ifeanyi, who recently clocked three, died days after his birthday was celebrated.

According to reports, Ifeanyi, who had drowned after he was found inside the swimming pool was rushed to Evercare Hospital in Lekki, Lagos State, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His parents, Davido and Chioma, were said to have travelled for a family gathering in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital in Nigeria’s South-West, on Monday, October 31, 2022, and had left Ifeanyi with his minders.

There have been growing concerns from fans and others who reacted to the reports of Ifeanyi’s death, even as no official release from the Adeleke family has confirmed the development.

Many are worried by conflicting reports, even as a responder who claimed to be close to the Adeleke family said their son was responding to treatment after the news of his death broke out.

Consequently, people are praying the death story should not be true.
