Former Nigerian Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, has honoured Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on his 82nd birthday.

In a heartfelt post on his Instagram handle, Osinbajo lauded Adeboye as a man of impeccable integrity and humility, stating: “Pastor Adeboye’s life of many challenges and wars, his courage, his unshaken faith, and his deep love for God, through phenomenal achievement and numbing personal tragedy, are altogether the most persuasive evangelical message to all, even those of other faiths, of the grace and mercy of God in the life of the saved.”

Osinbajo went on to reveal a poignant moment when Adeboye’s wife referred to him as a conduit for divine miracles, quoting her as saying, ‘See how God uses your father (Adeboye) as a smokescreen to do the miracles he wants to do.’

Reflecting on Adeboye’s humility despite his spiritual and intellectual prowess, Osinbajo remarked, “Apart from Him, you can do nothing,’ and that ‘no one can receive anything that is not given to him by God’ probably explains why a man so spiritually and intellectually gifted, so revered, and so respected by the high and low alike would still be so genuinely humble, self-effacing, and unfailingly respectful even of his subordinates.”

In his closing remark, Osinbajo expressed profound pride in being able to call such an extraordinary man his spiritual father, emphasising Adeboye’s faith, courage, and humility as qualities to be admired and emulated.
