• ‘We voted APC because of VP,’ resident says

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has delivered victory for his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and its candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the presidential election held on Saturday.

In his polling unit at Ojurege Ward 1, Polling Unit 14 in the Ikenne Local Government Area, the APC won the presidential election with 33 votes.

Prof. Osinbajo, returned home on Friday, to stay with his people at his country home in Ikenne to participate in the elections, and for this gesture, he has been widely commended by the residents for his fatherly approach.

A member of the Egunrege community in Ikenne, who could not hide his feelings, attested to the fact that most of the community members came out to vote in honour of the Vice President.

He said: “Most of those who came out here to vote for APC only did so because of the VP. We wanted to show him the support.”

At Ikenne LGA Ward 1 Polling Unit 14, where the Vice President voted, registered voters were 113, and the total vote cast was 60. In all, APC polled 33 coming first with Labour Party coming second.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) polled nine votes, while Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled seven votes.

The election had eight voids.
