Supreme Court to deliver judgement Thursday on Atiku, Obi’s appeals against Tinubu

Nigeria’s Supreme Court says it is ready to deliver judgment in the appeals of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi against the victory of President Bola Tinubu on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

Atiku the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) are challenging the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) that upheld President Tinubu’s electoral victory.

A seven-member panel of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice John Okoro, after hearing the appeals on Monday, reserved judgment to a date it said would be communicated to parties.

As gathered, the apex court has communicated Thursday’s date as the judgment date to all concerned parties.

The date has also been confirmed via the copy of a memo issued on Wednesday, by the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
