You’re a history maker, pursue your dreams with faith, Pastor Jaiyebo charges believers

September 16, 2024

A fervent teacher of the Gospel, Pastor Tunde Jaiyebo, has urged believers to pursue their dreams and recognise their potential as history makers.

He shared this reassuring message ministering at the inaugural four-day 2024 Charis UK Convention, themed “Grace So Amazing,” held from Friday, 23 to Monday, 26 August at Charis Blyth branch, Northumberland, England.

Pastor Jaiyebo, a prominent voice in purpose-driven Christian leadership, in Nigeria and abroad encouraged believers to relentlessly pursue their dreams, emphasising the role of faith and divine grace in achieving their purpose.

The foundation of grace

Pastor Jaiyebo, opened his message by referencing 1 Corinthians 15:8-10 (NLT), where the Apostle Paul reflects on his unworthiness and transformation through grace.

He stated, “But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out His special favor on me, not without results,” saying this scripture served as the foundation for his exploration of how grace can change lives and enable individuals to achieve their God-given purposes.

Becoming history makers

Throughout his sermon, Pastor Jaiyebo emphasised the importance of recognising oneself as a “history maker.”

He declared, “You are a history maker. Why? Because God wants you to do certain things on the earth that nobody else has done.”

He urged attendees to understand that God has a unique plan for each individual, stating, “There are some things that He wants you to do in a special way that nobody else has ever done.”

Overcoming life’s challenges

Addressing the various challenges that can hinder personal growth, Pastor Jaiyebo highlighted that many Christians live compromised lives due to distractions and circumstances.

He warned, “The devil understands the importance of you being a history maker. He will put things in your way that will distract you from living the life you want to live.”

He encouraged the audience to focus on their dreams and aspirations, despite life’s obstacles.

Pursue your dream, be unstoppable

“You are a history maker, and no one can stop you unless you stop yourself,” said Pastor Jaiyebo, urging individuals to remain steadfast in their pursuit of purpose, regardless of challenges.

“The future is waiting for you, but you must take steps of faith to enter it,” he added, stressing that every believer holds the potential to make a lasting impact.

Faith is your foundation

“Your dream cannot materialise without faith,” Pastor Jaiyebo explained, highlighting that faith is the foundation on which great achievements are built.

“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Without faith, it is impossible to please God,” he noted, citing Hebrews 11:1.

Persistence is key to success

Pastor Jaiyebo also emphasised the importance of persistence in the journey to fulfilling one’s destiny.

“You must be persistent. The road will not always be smooth, but those who endure to the end will be rewarded,” he said.

The preacher encouraged his audience not to give up in the face of opposition or delays, reminding them that “delay is not denial.”

Divine timing matters

He further expounded on the concept of divine timing, saying, “There is a time and season for everything. You must be sensitive to the timing of God concerning your dream.”

Pastor Jaiyebo pointed out that many people miss their moment because they fail to wait on God’s perfect timing.

“Trust in the Lord’s timing. He makes all things beautiful in its time,” he quoted from Ecclesiastes 3:11.

The multifaceted nature of grace

Pastor Jaiyebo elaborated on the concept of grace, describing it as a “game changer” that makes difficult tasks achievable.

He quoted 1 Peter 4:10, saying, “As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same according to the manifold grace of God.”

He explained that grace is not a one-dimensional concept but rather has many facets, stating, “Grace makes easy what is naturally difficult, tough, or impossible.”

Accessing grace

To help attendees access and harness this transformative grace, Pastor Jaiyebo outlined several key points:

1. Consciousness of grace: He emphasised the importance of understanding one’s identity in Christ, stating, “If you are saved, you are born again, you have entered into the room of grace.”

He referenced John 1:16, explaining that believers are carriers of grace.

2. Knowledge: He stressed that knowledge enhances grace, citing 2 Peter 1:2-3: “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you, how? Through the knowledge of God and of our Lord Christ, Jesus.”

He encouraged attendees to seek knowledge to activate their grace.

3. Hunger for grace: Pastor Jaiyebo urged the audience to cultivate a desire for grace, saying, “There must be a hunger. This difficulty will not swallow me up.”

4. Giving: He discussed the role of generosity in provoking grace, referencing 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, which states, “He who sows generously will also reap generously… God loves a cheerful giver… And God is able to make all grace, every favor and earthly blessing come to you in abundance.”

5. Impartation: Finally, he highlighted the significance of impartation through the laying on of hands, stating, “Impartation can come in many ways, for example, by the laying of hands.”

He elaborated on how laying hands on people transfers power, virtue, or grace to that person.

“There is a transference of virtue or power or grace to a person through the avenue of hands,” he stated, preparing the congregation for a session of impartation.

Practical application of grace

Pastor Jaiyebo’s message was not merely theoretical; it was designed for practical application in everyday life.

He urged attendees to recognise their inherent grace and to actively seek knowledge to enhance it.

He stated, “Amazing Grace is not just a song. It should be our reality. We don’t just come to church to hear good sermons. You come to church to be equipped to live a life that will glorify God.”

Concluding, the 2024 Charis UK Convention was an impactful event, with Pastor Jaiyebo’s message resonating deeply with the audience.

His emphasis on the transformative power of grace, the importance of self-recognition as history makers, and practical steps to access grace provided a roadmap for attendees seeking to fulfill their dreams and glorify God.

As he concluded, “Your story is changing. The narrative is changing.”
