The group said its mission and objectives center on bringing the vice president into the presidential contest oweing to his leadership qualities, problems solving skills and his peculiar ability of building bridges between people and their perception of government even though the law professor has not openly declared his interest for the country’s top job.

According to the group’s statement, “NigeriansAskForOsinbajo is a group of young vibrant futuristic and responsible Nigerian youths who believe that Nigeria needs an astute and pragmatic leader like the serving Vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and are willing to put in the work and ensure that the larger youth population and, indeed the rest of the masses buy into their desire for a man that can make things happen in practical terms in Nigeria.

“In the course of the leadership of this administration, the vice president has exhibited dexterity in public service, shown understanding of the peculiar challenges of various people groups and displayed effective leadership in pulling resources and relating with highly resourceful people with a bid to solving problems and building bridges between the people and their perception of government. It is on the strength of the display of these exceptional leadership qualities that the NigeriansAskForOsinbajo group chose to create a platform for canvassing support for his candidacy to the presidential seat of the nation.”
