The South West leaders who are also chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), are currently holding a session with the South-West Presidential aspirants of the party, in a meeting attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The meeting is holding at the Lagos State Flag House, Marina.

Others present at the meeting include: Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, a former governor of Ogun State, and serving senator, Ibikunle Amosun; a former speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Dimeji Bankole, and a former presidential running mate, Pastor Tunde Bakare.

Earlier, the fate of the meeting which was convened by some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South West, was hanging in the balance following widespread concerns and assumptions that the outcome of the planned meeting would be predictable based on the relationship of the leaders with individual aspirants, especially on APC matters in the South-West.

The parley was said to be the brainchild of two elders of the party, former governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande and a former Ogun State governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba and other prominent stakeholders in the region

In what could be called a show of respect for APC elders in the South-West, the Vice President, Prof Osinbajo, who has been meeting APC delegates across the states today both in Anambra and Enugu, joined the meeting, arriving to time.

According to feelers, his appearance at the meeting won praises from the elders who joined in the meeting presided over by Chief Akande and Aremo Osoba.

They had been privy to the fact that the VP had attended to nothing less than five engagements including a courtesy call with Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, meetings with the APC delegates and stop over at some of the party offices in the states, where it was said he had rushed back to catch the meeting which was set for 6:00 pm.

His arrival according to sources at the venue at the Lagos State House in Marina, enlivened the atmosphere and spurred banners and back-slapping in the room among the participants of the meeting as press photographers clicked away.
