2023: Soludo lauds Osinbajo on nation-building during visit to Anambra

The governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has commended the efforts of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in his last seven years of serving under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governor of the Southeastern state, Soludo, said this on Friday, when Osinbajo met with him at the Governor’s Lodge, Awka during his visit to Anambra State.

Osinbajo was in the state in continuation of his tour of states to meet with delegates of the APC ahead of the party’s presidential primaries scheduled to hold between May 30 and 31, 2022.

Prof Soludo, welcoming the Vice President, commended the contributions of Prof Osinbajo, to nation-building, especially as the Chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC).

“He has been leading us well whenever he is asked to lead and that is why we are all rooting for him. The man, Osinbajo, is a household name across Nigeria and among Nigerians.

“You are my brother and a private lawyer of many years, be rest assured that you have my support. You are welcome to Anambra State Mr Vice President,” Soludo said.

Responding, Vice President Osinbajo, who described Soludo as a great asset to Nigeria, also expressed confidence that Anambra would attain greater heights under his leadership.

In tackling the security challenges in Anambra State, Prof Osinbajo assured that the Federal Government will work with the state government to solve the security issues facing the state.

“Anambra is a major hub of industry in Nigeria, especially with regards to Small and Medium Enterprises, and is one of the States that everyone is looking up to with high expectations of significant inputs to the growth of the country’s economy.

“Security is a crucial matter, we assure you that the Federal Government will cooperate with the Anambra State Government to restore law and order in the State,” Osinbajo said.

Governor Soludo, in his response, thanked the Vice President for his interest in moving the state forward, saying, effective collaboration between the state and the Federal Government was important in resolving the current security challenges in the State.

Thereafter, Osinbajo held a closed-door meeting with All Progressives Congress stakeholders and delegates in Awka.
