Nigeria’s track superstar Tobi Amusan will kick off her campaign for an elusive Olympic medal on Wednesday as she competes in the heats of the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris 2024 Games.
The world record holder, who narrowly missed out on a podium finish at the Tokyo Olympics, will be hoping to secure the only major title that has eluded her so far in her illustrious career.
Amusan, who has been slotted in lane nine of the first heat, will be looking for a strong start to her competition in Paris.

The 27-year-old has been in scintillating form in the lead-up to the Olympics, having won the Diamond League trophy three consecutive times in 2023.
She also holds the world record in the women’s 100m hurdles, which she set at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, USA.
With 11 women currently running faster times than Amusan, the competition in Paris will be fierce.
However, the Nigerian-born US-based sprint star has been relentless in her pursuit of excellence, having risen against all odds to become a three-time African Games champion, a two-time African champion, and a two-time Commonwealth Games champion.
