Former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has celebrated his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo, on her 59th birthday with a brief but heartfelt message that has drawn warm reactions from admirers.
Sharing a photograph of the former Second Lady on Wednesday, Osinbajo wrote:
“Happy birthday, my darling… Love always. Yemi.”
The simple message reflects a pattern the former Vice President has maintained over the years, publicly marking his wife’s birthdays with affectionate tributes that often highlight her kindness, strength and unwavering support.
Dolapo Osinbajo, born Oludolapo Soyode on July 15, 1967, is a lawyer, philanthropist and social advocate.
She served as Nigeria’s Second Lady between 2015 and 2023, during her husband’s tenure as Vice President.
She is also a granddaughter of the late nationalist and former Premier of the Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, a legacy that has long placed her among Nigeria’s most recognised public figures.
Beyond public office, Dolapo Osinbajo has been widely recognised for her work supporting women, children and vulnerable members of society.

Through initiatives such as the Women’s Helping Hand Initiative and the Orderly Society Trust, she has championed social welfare, family values, education and youth development, earning respect across political and civic circles.
The Osinbajos, who married in November 1989, are often regarded as one of Nigeria’s enduring public couples.
Throughout their decades together, Prof. Osinbajo has consistently used milestone occasions to express appreciation for his wife, describing her over the years as his “love”, “best friend”, “support”, and “wings”, while frequently acknowledging the role she has played in their family and public life.
Wednesday’s birthday message, though only a few words long, continues that tradition.
It offers another glimpse into the couple’s enduring bond and has drawn congratulatory messages from friends, associates and well wishers celebrating Dolapo Osinbajo’s new age.
