A commercial flight carrying roughly 180 passengers from Dubai to Tel Aviv was forced into a dramatic emergency landing in Saudi Arabia following a violent cockpit confrontation between its pilots.
Flydubai Flight FZ1073 encountered a severe mid-air crisis when a physical struggle broke out on the flight deck.
During the altercation, the aircraft suffered a sudden and steep descent, dropping nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds.
The flight crew transmitted initial general emergency distress codes, followed by a code indicating potential unlawful interference or hijacking.

The dramatic trajectory and emergency signals prompted security forces to scramble military fighter jets to monitor and intercept the aircraft.
The Boeing 737 aircraft ultimately altered its course away from Jordanian airspace and landed safely at Tabuk Airport in northern Saudi Arabia.
Both the captain and the first officer sustained injuries during the onboard struggle and were hospitalised upon landing.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed that the situation was brought under control and that steps were being taken to bring the passengers home.
Authorities in Saudi Arabia and relevant aviation agencies have launched an extensive investigation into the unprecedented incident.
